‘The Light of Gelam’ Light Show
A first of its kind monument light show called ‘The Light of Gelam’ will spellbind visitors with a spectacular cultural-themed projection mapping display on the façade of its very own national monument, Sultan mosque.
‘The Light of Gelam’ displays specially curated contents that is designed to showcase Malay and Islamic theme and elements with a special attention to Kampong Gelam’s traditional footprints as well as its historical landmarks. This show is the highlight of the event – designed to impress and dazzle.
The show pays tribute to Sultan Mosque as a heritage monument and icon of Singapore. The illustrative content combines the architectural elements of the mosque and its intricate motifs. Malay and Arabic-themed tropes sequenced the canvas with beautiful display of animation and graphics; synced perfectly to the songs composed by music director, Hardi Aris.
The mosque whispers the deeply rooted historical narrative surrounding Kampong Gelam; In which it that has bear witness to its growth and development since the early development of Singapore. It symbolises strength and pride of the Malay quarter, like a beacon illuminating light.
Inspired by this, the show is named ‘The Light of Gelam’
